Beautiful Bjork : Utopia

It goes without saying really, that Bjork is one of the most important artists of the 21st Century and is fully attuned to the possibilities of healing through voice, sound and music. Her otherworldly qualities often suggest that she is a creature somewhere between human, superhuman and extra terrestrial; yet her constant humility and contradictory mix of fragility and strength are beyond endearing. She is a true living icon and a talent like no other.

We love this behind the scenes video on the making of her album Black Lake.

She is always full of surprises with every new album she offers and with a plethora of talented collaborators in her creative embrace. Her look and sound are always on the cutting edge of style and innovation and her new album Utopia is nothing less than mind-blowingly impressive both sonically and visually.

Check out the latest music video for “Blissing me out” and then go and have some fun browsing around her website BJORK HOMEPAGE and listen to/buy the new album BJORK UTOPIA  and you will likely find yourself being transported into multiple other dimensions at the same time.

The Power of Sisterhood by Lauren Lee

Now, more than ever, we are being called to stand up, speak our truths and live with compassion, authenticity and fearless hearts. Many of us are feeling a call to live more sustainably and protect the earth, to learn/share integrated practices which help us to live from a place of love and not fear. Our individual efforts are 100% needed for a collective shift…

This is why I teach yoga and meditation.

I know that these teachings have given me tools to step out of my personal addictions, and help me to make better decisions daily. And with my own healing, I can offer more support and love to those around me. I can live a life of service and have the most positive impact in the world.

Most importantly, I know that these practices bring people together in community and that ideas become more powerful when shared…

This shift in consciousness is the rise of the Divine Feminine. The energy of the female is potent — She gifts us the qualities of creativity, intuition, protection, holistic thought, collaboration, empathy and unconditional love…all of which have been ignored and abused within our society for far too long.

While men have an equally important role to play, it is women’s time to gather in sisterhood to encourage mass collaboration and love as the qualities our society will recognise and hold sacred moving forwards.

This is why I share the practices of yoga and mindfulness through retreat immersions around the world. I want EVERY human to first treat themselves with the love and respect they deserve through heathy lifestyle habits: high vibe nourishment through diet, sleep patterns, physical movement and time for reflection and relaxation to bring awareness to the parts of us we need to nourish (or begin to nourish) daily. I want women to learn to accept themselves exactly as they are, to see themselves as a beautiful and unique Goddess and live with more sweetness. Most important, I want everyone to experience the gift of sacred community: what it feels like to be seen, heard and felt from a place of neutrality. When we feel nourished from within and supported from those around us, we naturally rise into our highest selfs.

This is the power of Divine Sisterhood. Our sisters provide the platform for loving-kindness and a safe haven of support. Our sisters help shape-shift us into better partners, mothers and daughters. They remind us of our power and responsibilities as women of the world. They hold us accountable without shame or blame. They honour our uniqueness and help us integrate with tenderness. The power of sisterhood is fierce, creative, loving and a change-maker…and this energy resides within each one of us.

As we are all a direct mirror reflection of one another, it is imperative we take initiative and become mentors for the world. Women must celebrate and collaborate with one another in order to encourage those around us to follow suit.

And when enough of us support one another to take action, the system will naturally adapt to support us. There is a ripple effect which will spread far and wide.

But it begins on an individual level…

It is our birth right to step into our highest selves — to be happy, healthy and give back to the entire eco-system that is our global family. This is a call to action to create more Divine Sisterhood in our lives. Together, women can change the world. I feel it. I believe it with every single cell in my being. Things are just getting good and I am so honoured to be here, right now, alongside you.

The Divine Goddess within me, recognises the Divine Goddess within each and every one of you.

Holding Space by Giada D.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt an expansion in your heart as you breathe in?

What about the opposite experience- have you ever walked into a room and felt a sweep of fear or contraction in your gut?

Is it possible to affect a room or space, so that anyone entering into it may instantly feel at ease? The simple answer to these questions is yes.

Upon entering a room, consciously set an intention to clear all negative energies within, towards and around the space; then sit still in meditation and breathe with this wish until there is a feeling of ease and a sense that all negative energies have been cleared.

You could consider to remove your shoes and leave them at the door. Anyone who practises yoga frequently gets into the habit of doing this at almost any doorway, sacred or not. It is said that shoes represent the ego, which is why it is an act of reverence to remove them before entering a space. It can also be helpful to cover the head with a shawl or a hat as a connection to spirit and a veil of protection representing humility.

Another beautiful ritual to enhance good energy, is to create an altar of meaningful objects, talismans, crystals, candles and fresh flowers. Anyone entering this room can contribute to decorating this altar, ideally with a personal object that they cherish and wish to have charged for the duration of their time in the space, with all the positive energy that will be flowing through. A way to welcome people towards an altar would be to invite the setting of intentions internally or out loud for whatever is to take place in the room or simply for whatever wish or prayer that a person may want to call into their lives or their futures. One by one, as people place their objects on the altar to both contribute and receive a sense of sacred space is created by all who enter it.

Smudging or the burning of sacred herbs such as sage, palo santo or incense is a sensual way of releasing negative ions into the air and creating an instantly uplifted mood. This ritual is practised in many cultures, religions and sacred spaces worldwide.

Holding space is not just about creating the right atmosphere, bubble or den of love, trust and safety- although that is definitely a powerful and effective intention.

There is a psychological aspect to this concept too. Coaches, counsellors, healers and teachers are all space holders first and foremost before offering their knowledge, expertise and gifts as lightworkers, caretakers or empowerment catalysts.

Learning to park the ego to one side is an integral first step in being able to allow the necessary space to be filled by the students, the clients, those who come to learn or who seek help and are in need.

The Karpman Drama triangle is an insightful diagram explaining what conflict can arise internally and externally if a person takes on a “Rescuer” “Let me help you because you are weak” role, a “Persecutor” “All knowing. I am right and you are wrong” role or a “Victim” “Help me because I cannot help myself” role .

Karpman Drama Triangle

Holding space is not about rescuing or playing out any of these roles, it is about standing in the eye of the tornado as an observer of thoughts words and emotions and all that is energetically swirling around us. It is about being fully present and heart centred in authenticity with transparent intentions and very clear boundaries. It is about seeing things as they really are, whatever may arise, whatever may be said or done. It is a path the demands a strong sense of discernment, of knowing when to speak up and when to hold back, when to smile and when to just simply nod your head, when to give advice and when to ask powerful questions. It is also about developing a sixth sense slowly over time for understanding the unspoken and the subtle. Some people are born with high levels of intuition and others develop it through the school of hard knocks aka “the wounded healers”. Our pain can be our greatest strength and from there we can learn how to best be of service to others.

Holding space can be a catalyst for deep healing and powerful transformations and the most beautiful thing about it, is that we all have the power within us to develop the skills and hold space for each other.

Vera Kaur cover

The human body is a latticework of energies, vibrating at different frequencies, encompassing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. It has been perfectly created to function optimally, providing we observe the laws of nature.

When we divert from these laws, through breathing polluted air, eating food far from its natural state, drinking chemical laden water, ingesting toxic medication, smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, using inorganic body and household products, being exposed to electromagnetic pollution and even thinking negative thoughts, energy imbalances result within our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body, creating dis-ease.

The symptoms of our dis-ease are merely the body’s innate method of correcting the imbalances within, to allow us to return to our natural state of wholeness.

When we attempt to treat our dis-ease through the administration of medication, we are merely temporarily suppressing the symptoms. We are not addressing the root cause of our dis-ease, i.e. the energy imbalance. The medication causes further imbalances, disrupting the body’s natural immune system, which is rarely given the opportunity to fulfil its role.

Over a period of time, our initial dis-ease re-appears with more serious symptoms. Our body, once again is attempting to correct the imbalances within, to restore the healthy flow of energies. Our new symptoms are diagnosed as a new dis-ease, stronger medication is administered and the viscous cycle continues.

The traditional energy healers of India had a wealth of knowledge on how to diagnose, treat, and cure dis-ease by natural methods, and through the generations, a great deal of this ancient wisdom has been kept alive, some of which is described below.

The purpose of applying traditional Indian holistic therapies is to empower our body’s innate ability to self-heal.

Acupressure

The holistic practice of diagnosing and treating the root cause of dis-ease, thereby curing dis-ease by applying intermittent pressure on specific areas of the hands and feet, that correspond to specific organs, glands, nerves, bones, tissues and so forth. This regulates the vital energy within the body part, empowering it to function optimally. Traditional Indian medicine widely recognises that the physical root cause of all dis-ease lies within our endocrine and exocrine glands. These glands have a profound effect on our entire being as they regulate the functions of our systems and organs by secreting the numerous vital hormones essential for our well-being. It is only through the application of acupressure, that our endocrine and exocrine glands can be re-balanced and re-empowered.

Mudras

The holistic practice of balancing the vital energy throughout the body by joining different combinations of the fingers and thumbs. It is believed that the human structure is a miniature form of the universe, composed of the five elements; earth, water, fire, air and space, each of which corresponds to a specific finger or thumb. Holding specific fingers and thumbs together for a short period of time allow the elements to regain equilibrium which creates a positive effect throughout the entire being, to encourage our body’s natural healing response. Traditionally, mudras were practiced in conjunction with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) to attain a higher state of consciousness or to channel the vital flow of energy to an area of the body that required healing.

Pranayama

The holistic practice of controlling the breath by a number of different techniques to increase the vital energy within the body. Our breath is the life force that flows through each and every cell within our body, and by expanding our life force we can harmonize with the life force of the universe, to receive cosmic healing energy. Our thoughts and emotions can have a detrimental effect on our breathing patterns, affecting all the bodily systems. However, with the regular practice of pranayama we can influence our physical, mental and emotional states in the most positive of ways, to initiate the body’s natural capacity to self-heal. Traditionally, pranayama was practiced to release negative emotions, re-balance the body’s energies and prepare the mind for meditation.

Meditation

The holistic practice of quietening the body and mind through awareness to enter a state of deep tranquillity whilst being fully alert. Meditation has been practiced in India for centuries to promote good health at a spiritual, mental, emotional and physical level. It allows us to re-connect with our true selves to experience inner peace and contentment, which we can draw upon in times of external stress and chaos, to remain calm, centred and in control. Meditation is immensely therapeutic and with regular practice it enables our entire being to rest, recharge and recuperate to release negative thought processes, deep rooted emotional trauma and pain. Traditionally, meditation was practiced to discipline the mind to attain spiritual purification or enlightenment.

Chanting

The holistic practice of repeating a mantra, for a short period of time, to detach from the external world, bring our awareness to the present moment and return to the essence of our being. A mantra is a rhythmic speaking or singing of a word or sound. It is believed to calm the restless mind and rid it of negative thought processes to create tranquillity and mental purity. Chanting starts loudly, gradually becoming quieter and ends almost silently. This resonates with the energies of the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our body, to restore inner peace and awaken our latent healing energies. Traditionally, chanting was practiced with great devotion to reconnect with the divine light and love within us to experience the unity of life.

Facial Acupressure

The holistic practice of balancing the energy throughout the bodily systems by applying gentle pressure to specific points on the face that correspond to the body’s organs and glands. It is believed that our face reflects our inner physical, mental and emotional health and the upper, middle and lower areas of our face are associated with the upper, middle and lower parts of our torso. Indian energy healers study the face as a means of diagnosing health imbalances. Self- facial acupressure is effective for restoring our skin’s youthfulness and assisting our natural capacity to heal, as it re-activates the vital energy flowing through our bodily systems. Traditionally facial acupressure was applied during an Ayurvedic head massage to calm the mind, body and spirit.

Chromotherapy

The holistic practice of applying specific colours to parts of the body, by various methods to heal energy imbalances. The sun is comprised of seven colours, each of which possesses its own unique energy vibration and carries its own healing property. Each of the seven colours is associated with our seven main energy centres known as the chakras. Colour can be absorbed by our body through our chakras by sunlight, artificial light, the earth’s natural stones, water or visualization to restore harmony by correcting physical, mental and emotional energy imbalances. Traditionally the sun was worshipped for its ability to provide the necessary healing energy required by the body, to treat and prevent dis-ease, due to its abundant and unlimited source of solar energy.

Crystals

The holistic practice of placing the earth’s natural stones within the body’s magnetic field to restore the flow of healthy positive energy within and around the body by removing the toxic negative energy. The earth is crystalline, as it is composed of minerals, and our bodies are crystalline in essence; therefore our energies resonate harmoniously with the vibration of crystals. Each crystal possesses a unique chemical make-up which determines its healing property and appearance. Placing a crystal in our energy field or on a chakra allows our body to raise its vibration to that of the crystal. Traditionally, the earth’s natural stones were well known for their capacity to encourage self-healing and were widely used treat the organs and systems of the body, mind and spirit.

Yoga Asanas

The holistic practice of physical postures known as asanas, each of which has specific physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits to unite the body, mind and soul. Yoga alleviates numerous health conditions through restoring the healthy flow of our energies. The breathing carried out during the practice improves our cell oxygenation and increases our lung capacity which is beneficial to every bodily system. Regular practice of the asanas instils a calming and balancing effect on our endocrine and nervous system to relieve stress and anxiety. It is believed that as our physical body becomes more relaxed, flexible and open, this promotes a similar effect on our mental and emotional body. Traditionally, yoga asanas were practiced to purify the body and quieten the mind in preparation for meditation.

Barefoot Walking

The holistic practice of walking on the natural earth, barefoot to draw upon the powerful and unique energy source that lies within the earth. The earth is composed of minerals and the human body is mineral in essence, therefore our body’s energies resonate perfectly with the earth’s energies. It is believed that through the practice of barefoot walking, our body absorbs the antioxidants it requires to counteract harmful free radicals. Sleeping outdoors during the summer, on a natural fibre placed directly on the bare earth is immensely therapeutic and described as charging the entire being with the vital healing force of the universe.  Traditionally, humans were aware of the benefits of connecting their body with the earth’s surface; sleeping and sitting on natural animal skins and walking barefoot.

Healing Visualisations

The holistic practice of creating positive images of healing within the mental body, which allows the emotional body to respond by becoming receptive to the healing, which subsequently initiates the healing process in the physical body. Our body and mind are intricately connected and our thoughts have a direct influence on our physical health. By using the power of our mind, to envision our healing in process, we are disciplining our nervous system to react in a positive way, resulting in the desired outcome. The regular practice of healing visualizations, allows us to detach from our past limited beliefs to release our fears, bring our awareness to the present moment to enable us to create a healthy future. Traditionally, there was an innate awareness of the mind, body, soul connection and healing visualizations were practiced through daily prayer.

Raw Food Diet

The holistic practice of eating food in its whole, un-refined and un-cooked form that is positively and negatively balanced, supplying the body with a plentiful supply of solar energy and active enzymes. Food eaten in its raw, natural state has a detoxifying, calming and balancing effect on the energies of our body, which instils a similar effect on the energies of our mind and emotions. All of the nutrients required by the body are available in plant based food, in a form that is easily assimilated. Traditionally, fasting was recommended during illness to allow the body’s energy reserves to be directed towards self-healing, however adopting a raw food diet for a short period of time can have similar health benefits.

In today’s fast-paced world, as we strive to create balance in our bodies, tranquillity in our minds and harmony in our lives, to experience inner peace and contentment, we can benefit enormously from the ancient Indian wisdom of self-healing practices to cleanse, calm and empower our energies, ensuring they flow smoothly and synchronically, instilling physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

When the student is ready the Shadow Teacher appears.

Because we have not faced the core illusion of separation, we suffer.

It hurts. There’s nothing like a big dose of agony to get our attention.

Fear rattles the cage screaming “FREE ME PLEASE!”

Due to our endless devotion to fear as a way to evolve we invoke shadow healers into our lives. People who enter our field who are committed to deception disguised as truth. They make great truth-lie-truth sandwiches.  They come in many designs from the most charming to the despicable but they away come in as a direct match to your favorite flavor of fear. So illuminating they are, revealing the price of all that you crave and all that you despise.

Shadow teachers are unaware of the real lessons they bring. If they understood their role in your life they would be conscious. Consciousness doesn’t cast a shadow. Conscious teachers are masters of Compassion & Wisdom. To expose the lies within you, like great magicians, they can use illusion to reveal the truth. Out of love, in the end, all tricks are revealed, full transparency, nothing to hide. The illusion lasts just long enough to show you that you bought into it in the first place. They attract others in a responsible way. It’s not glamorous but it’s real.

Shadow teachers on the other hand, get lost in the magic trick itself. They are restless and often repel others after the initial attraction has worn off. They end up alone burning through friends, partners, students, even family falls away. The have to keep on the run, shape-shifters, retreat junkies, entrepreneurial gypsies. What they serve up and what’s on the menu are two different things. Not in a paradoxical way but in a way that says, “HEY SOMETHING’S NOT ADDING UP HERE?”

The great lesson of the shadow teacher is contrast, that Ah-Ha moment where you finally see what they have been trying to show you all along; your pride, your fear of being alone, poor, unworthy, etc.

When you have identified a shadow healer in your life it’s best to honor them and yourself with confession, forgiveness and open appreciation. To call a shadow person out is a death threat. Truth is crippling to what they thought they were and what they thought they had to offer. Can they follow you out into the light of day?  Sure. Will they? Not many. They love the drama. It hides the trauma within. So they focus on how screwed up you are so they don’t have to look in the mirror. Thank them for being so illuminating of your shadows, such great examples of what NOT to be, excellent imposters, faux-teachers that teach you what’s real.

In this way, the habit of fear-based living can break and LOVE can shine through the cracks they seem to have made in you. Turn 180 degrees and walk in the opposite direction out of the mind games and into heart of Love. They will tell you, if you were really (filling in whatever word describes what you want to be the most) you would stay and play their game.  We need them until we don’t. We have all been one to someone at sometime. Walk into the sun. The courageous ones will follow.

Dear Shadow Teacher,

Thank you for showing up for me when I was not ready for a better way. At least I had you.

Thank you for giving me the chance again and again to see how I bow at the feet of fear.

Thank you for ripping from me all that I assumed I was, stripping me naked and leaving me alone on the side of the road, in the cold, in the spooky part of town.

Thank you for taking me on a tour of scar-city, forcing me to choose between the things, people and experiences I love.

Shadow Teacher, thank you for the exorcism of that haunting whisper, “You my dear, are not enough.”

Thank you for showing me what I am not willing to tolerate any more.

I grieve all the times I couldn’t see what I see in myself now. I grieve that you wont share in this seeing in yourself with me.

Everything you trigger in me is an opportunity to see the path away from you. Know that I walk away out of love.

Amara Samata

When did you discover an interest in healing?

My Journey began when I was very young.

Seeing the conflict in my world, within my own family and in my school; I was born with a deep desire to question everything. What is going on here? What is God? What is Love? What is True? What is really REAL? How would I know? I had to know.

I had times in my life when I fell into great suffering and sadness as a girl, a daughter, a young woman, an actress, a wife and as a mother devoted to her son. I became interested in healing as a way to overcome the pain of self-sabotage, marital divorce and to make peace with this world and my experience in it.

What transformations have you experienced through your healing journey?

It’s important to understand that healing and transformation is not a destination. It is an on-going ever-present expression of unfolding self and mastering the Self and the No Self. Through the consistent willingness to witness my self and the life I’ve manifested, healing has happened. By healing I mean a capacity to be and express ones self as whole, less fragmented or limited in perception and experience. For instance, as a teen I was badly bulimic for 9 years. It was by finally facing that empty seemingly bottom-less pit of fear within, that I discovered that emptiness is where the magic happens. The empty void is your friend. I also transformed my chronic back pain of 7 years into a pain free spine. I’ve healed low-self esteem and I’ve given birth to the conscious nature that was always there hiding behind the veils of my small me-ness.  In the process I’ve learned to manifest with great skill, I’ve experienced un-earthly bliss and best of all I’ve stepped into my calling without fear or attachment. The calling of the Revealer.

What type of healing do you do?

Well “I” don’t, “do” healing. Healing is a natural by-product of Conscious Awareness.

Calling on all that has helped me evolve, I offer up what worked for me. After 12 years practicing and studying self-empowerment, spirituality, yoga and meditation I ended up mentoring with a Filipino Mystic and Healer and at the same time studying daily with a Tibetan trained Lama.  Together I was transformed through these distinctly masculine and feminine approaches to awakening. The combined result is what I offer to others in the form of hands-on energetic work, guided visualisations, meditation, inner inquiry, clairvoyant readings, sat sang and  intuitive strategic consultations, shaktipad and more.

Amara Samata

How did you develop your abilities and methods?

Whatever worked on me in the thrashings of my dark nights and in the illuminations of the light is what I use.

I have embody more and more what is called “The Skilful Means” to intuitively know what someone needs in order to heal. If it works on a few you can be sure it will work on thousands more. We are more alike then we realise. Out of all that I have found it’s the combination of Conscious Inquiry (asking the right questions at the right moment) and listening with a willingness to live the answer with the totality of one’s being that brings the quickest results.

What do you want people to know about Inner Guidance?

I offer in-depth and personal guidance as well as on-going support to those who come to see me which has resulted in over 1500 people now experiencing themselves in a new and more holistic way. This work with individuals, couples, families, groups, immersions and trainings is what has become the Inner Guidance Institute, an on-line seedling center for self-illuminating offerings.

Amara Samata

What transformations have you witnessed in clients/people you have worked with?

I’ve got the best job in the world! I’m privileged and honoured to be able to see into the depth of others’ systems and offer them the invitation of liberation. I’ve witnessed more than once, rape victims taking back their power and bowing to that experience, letting it go FOR GOOD. I’ve seen families heal old karmic wounds and give each other permission to love and accept one another in new healthy ways again. I’ve seen a woman stand up out of her wheelchair 7 days later and now she drives herself to the gym. I’ve seen a Guru confess their sins of jealousy and misuse of power and return to their students in a more humble and transparent way. I’ve seen a mother commune with her teenage daughter who died and seeing the reasons why she was able to move on with joy. I’ve seen a Muslim father give his ½ Muslim daughter permission to remove her headdress. I’ve seen her shower him with love.

How do you prepare for your sessions and workshops?

I set the intention to have no agenda other than to have no agenda. I disappear into the source of all that is. I listen, pay attention and take note of what inspires and serves others the most.

What do your mentoring and training experiences involve?

They involve you showing up 100% for yourself as we get into a deep line of inner inquiry that reveals the motives behind your actions. In a field of unconditional love, I’m here 1000% for you! Let’s connect.

What has your greatest realisation or learning been?

The ongoing mastery of the living paradox of everything, nothing and the path that leads right back to NOW. Fear is only Love waiting to be embraced consciously.

Do you have one tip to share for happiness and wellbeing in everyday life?

Yes, every time you catch yourself acting out of lack of trust, fear, obligation or unconscious sacrifice STOP. Give yourself a little love pat and say, “Oh, I’m doing it again. It’s ok, I don’t need to do that. I’m good.”  Take a deep breath in, exhale and respond anew.

What is your favourite music/artists to listen to?

The realms beyond this dimension. There is no music on earth like it. But some come kinda close. I love music created in highest intention. Nature is probably my favorite artist. I do like the power of the human voice.

What are your plans for the future, evolution of what you do?

I have a few opportunities, one is to open a healing center in BALI. It’s going to change the way we think about healing and humanity and it might also just be a nice place to have tea. That seems to be the plan working through me. I’ll be hosting more training programs in other countries and I’m finishing a book.

When did you discover an interest in photography and filmmaking?

Since I was 8 years old, I have had a passion for story telling. I used to create films with an old home video camera that needed to be plugged into the wall in order to film. I have always had a very strong imagination and vision.

What made you decide to become a visual artist?
My love for sharing a perspective or a message to others without needing to explain my self in words. My passion for mixing art forms together to express a feeling, a story, an emotion.

How did you develop your abilities and methods?
I attended a film production program at the Toronto film school. Working on many sets in various departments, but most of all allowing myself to receive a vision and take all the action steps needed to achieve it. Building solid teams of artists and supporters who are passionate about helping bring the vision to life.
What themes and subjects are you most drawn to?
The cycles of life. Indigenous wisdom and culture, Ceremony, Spirituality, the uprising of the feminine spirit, nature, sustainability and innovation, anthropology.

What does a creative shoot with you involve?
Focus, dedication, trust, passion, growth, openness, willingness to explore craft, make mistakes, and learn.

How do you prepare for your shoots?
Preproduction organisation, bringing the team together, acting work.

Why specifically do you do this work?
I do it as a way to express the transformation I’ve experienced, witnessed, or the beauty i see. It helps to give me a platform to communicate my vision with the world.

What transformations have you experienced through your work?
Biggest lesson would be getting over the ego of the artist. When you complete a project you can always see a lot of things that you could do better next time. This at times stops people from moving forward and progressing or finishing projects. I was stuck at this point for a while. Now I respect each thing I create and I look back at 3 things I loved about the work and 3 things I can grow in the world. Those 3 things then become my areas of focus to grow and expand in my craft.
What transformations have you witnessed in others?
The healing power of what can be achieved when a group comes together and combines their gives. This goes beyond what one on their own can achieve. It is inspirational.

When did you discover an interest in healing?

My interest in healing began as an interest in preventing suffering. Being a small kid I remember saving our local ants from being killed by the boy next door. I couldn’t bear other kids ostracised or bullied at school, I often used to stand in and protect them – I was just more attuned to others feelings. I loved to sit for hours with my rabbits just stroking them. I knew I had this protective, nurturing capacity within although this was never reflected back to me and I could not put it into words until at 24 I had a powerful experience which catapulted me directly onto a spiritual path, opening doors that I didn’t know existed. I still didn’t know where I was going, but I just knew it made complete sense, and it felt like I had finally come home and found the direction of my calling. It ignited my heart and passion like nothing else.

What made you decide to become a healer?

It depends on how you define ‘healer’. We are all healers, healing ourselves and others as we go through life. But I was increasingly getting messages that the universe wanted me to work directly with people’s emotional, spiritual and psychological issues using spirit, rather than just my everyday self. I felt progressively pushed in directions away from more mainstream ways of helping others into more alternative approaches. Although for many years I was balancing mainstream jobs with healing others, straggling different aspects of myself like I was walking a tightrope – not able to really show my true self as I was somewhere still ashamed of it. Strangely, I finally went full time (with yet another universal push) when I realised that I was no longer resistant to my ‘day’ job or my everyday self – something settled within and the inner conflict was resolved. I had come to terms with life’s learning pace and had accessed a deep patience for it taking just some time. At that point, my transition and readiness to be a full time healer (without a day job), was complete and I found myself having a full client base. I needed a few pushes along the way and a lot of trust in my heart’s desire to do this work.

What type of healing work do you do?

This is a difficult question to answer. I combine many approaches from shamanic, astrological, the Earth Path (Soul Plan system), Process Oriented Psychology, body psychotherapies, and most importantly the Ascended Masters, Sacred fire and Goddess tradition. I don’t do hands on healing, but a lot of following my own awareness and feeling, working with pure intention, as well as invoking higher levels of consciousness. I align myself with what the soul is trying to learn and help the person also get aligned with that. But that’s just a small aspect of the work. Essentially, its supporting people’s Higher Self take up more residence.

What does a healing session with you involve?

There can sometimes at first be a degree of diagnosis and I use my awareness to follow the client’s process in the moment – what their consciousness, energy, body as well as their conscious minds tell me, and then let nature show me the way forward. I hold it all and see where the natural process needs to go. Essentially, the idea is to support a client’s higher self to show up and show them where it wants them to go to be happier. I have increasingly found that just about anything can happen in a session – from silent stillness, to expelling dense energy, to blissful states of consciousness and expansion to dragon roaring. Following the Tao means you never quite know where you are going and where you will end up.

How did you develop your abilities and methods?

In my 20s and 30s, I explored many avenues of spirituality from more traditional to some very contemporary. I went on many courses, read many books, worked with many teachers and I loved just turning up at lectures and talking with people. I have always been innately curious and so I just trained and trained. I wasn’t afraid to spend all my money on my personal development as I knew it wouldn’t go to waste and would pay off in time.

Why specifically do you do this work?

It makes my soul and heart sing, it challenges me in the way I need and it’s what I can offer the world. I am continually growing and learning about myself in this work, as well as learning about life and other people, and I feel like I’m a perpetual student. Also I suspect its the only thing I could do, I didn’t make a very good Personal Assistant and I don’t fit in the mainstream, so I figured I needed to go my own way and then bring the mainstream to me.

How do you prepare for your sessions?

I connect with my Higher Self, check in with myself, notice what’s within me and make no assumptions or judgments about whether it’s my own or my clients’ field of consciousness (as its all part of the same field). In terms of taking care of myself, I actively make sure I don’t invest too much in anything that lowers my vibration, but I also keep the perspective that my inherent loving nature is far more powerful than anything that could possibly ever lower my vibration, that way it doesn’t have any energy over me.

What transformations have you experienced through doing this work?

Both gentle and profound transformations. Some have been painful too. The most profound and positive of which was when I received my first ever Goddess Initiation. It shifted my consciousness to a place where I was finally able to experience love for myself. When I then started initiating other women through the Goddess, I then began to experience a deep love for others. More subtle transformations have come through my studies of Process Work – I am indebted to some amazing teachers and students in the Process Work community who have challenged, pushed and deeply accepted me.

What transformations have you witnessed in others?

I love seeing the penny drop in sessions or when people move out of their relationship polarisations and begin to access more unity and wholeness with others. These are sometimes very small and subtle transformations, but ones we never forget. I’ve also seen people in the midst of distressing emotions one minute, shift to a complete stillness and peace the next. Often it is the small transformations that feel the most profound and sacred.

What has your greatest realisation or learning been?

That’s a big question. To honour all life experience as our teachers, and that if we are wise enough and take the time, we can find ourselves in everyone else’s experiences at some point in our lives and that it’s less about changing who we are into something dramatically different and more about just simply reconnecting with our original nature.

What is the most powerful type of healing you have personally experienced?

The sacred Goddess initiations – the White Fire, Isis and Gate of Grace Initiation channelled by White Eagle of the Whirling Rainbow Foundation.

What is your favourite music/artists to listen to?

Florence and The Machine, Ashana, Eivor Palsdottir, Kate Bush

Do you have one tip to share for happiness and wellbeing in everyday life?

Yes, be curious and open about other people’s viewpoints and get interested in where others are coming from. With that, get good at knowing your own truth and listening to others’ truths.

What are your plans for the future evolution of what you do?

I am currently putting together a Spiritual Counselling training programme beginning March 2017 and we will be running our next Abundant Goddess Programme early next year, with my colleague Sage Emery. We also have our Abundant Goddess Community of women who with us, continue to spread the message of the Goddess and Divine Mother’s presence; grounding her presence in our own lives and that of others, which is the essence of all this work.

A galactic tidal wave of divine light is descending upon earth, raising the frequency. The old reality is ending. We will experience a dynamic re-calibration of electromagnetic fields into Earth on a global scale. Which will trigger a radical shift in consciousness.

As we reach the second half of the year, we will experience more energetic shifts, frequency expansion symptoms; the healing, balancing and aligning of the mind, body, and soul.

The cosmic christ energy entering the planet now is increasing the frequency of our kundalini energy. And our auric field is expanding and becoming brighter. The aura is holding more of the high frequency cosmic energies it receives from the higher dimensions in space. As the aura expands, the person expands their consciousness. Our aura must go through these expansions in order to merge with new Earth. The frequency changes is filtering out any lower vibrational frequency from our body.

As you feel these ascension symptoms; Emotional changes-feeling irritable, overwhelming mood swings. Mental changes-feeling disorientated, lack of concentration. Physical reactions-high pitch sound vibrating in the ears, intense pressure around the head, fatigue, exhaustion. This is a clear sign that you are spiraling upwards with Earth and integrating the higher frequency codes, thus creating an interconnected and unified crystalline body that will carry more cosmic christ energy.

Our body is being reformed, redefined. When we go through this process, our DNA also goes through this process. The DNA is being given the programming to prepare for a brand new reality to be born within it so that it can begin to experience and visualize the new Earth beyond the lower dimensional confines of 3D Earth. The activation of neural path ways will trigger new perceptions, new information, new impulses and the re-calibration of our DNA, thus activating our highest DNA potential.

As the Earth spirals up through the star gate 4D portal faster and faster, we are taken into higher and higher consciousness within the new Harmonic Universe. We will perceive worlds of unimaginable beauty as the veils are lifted. Multidimensional reality that interconnects all things will be as clear as sun light. The old reality will be swept away by the revelation of what we are, released, transformed into a multidimensional being, conscious, whole and free.

New Earth will emerge without fear, without war, without greed, in a safe custodianship of the awakened human species, manifesting peace with love, light and celebration.

Open yourselves to these high dimensional frequencies, open your heart, trust with love. Now is the time of great shifting of the Ascension Cycle!

Within Love-Unity,

What type of healing do you do?

I have named my approach “Guided Self-Recalibration”. It is essentially an active and conversational meditation process whereby an issue or symptom is explored until disruptive patterns are identified and their root causes are recognized and dispelled. I provide supportive reflection and guidance so that the inherent healing process within an individual can recover and optimize. The process is subtle and organic, addressing the spirit while always respecting privacy and boundaries. I listen, witness, support, reflect and guide, holding space and gently encouraging the individual to take an active part in their healing. The goal is to ‘free’ and to strengthen or bolster those in need so that they may proceed in their lives in accordance with their soul’s fullest potential.

When did you discover an interest in healing?

Even before having the vernacular to express such an interest succinctly, I have had an inherent inclination to support and aid others since early childhood. I always felt that we were all born with gifts to assist ourselves and others in unique ways, and in developing and sharing those gifts we all contribute in a meaningful and valuable way to the beauty and harmony of the world and beyond.

Did you study with someone?

Since my quest has been to come to understand the connections and interrelationships between emotional, psychological and physical well-being, I did not study with one particular teacher, instead I have taken a hands on approach, exploring various spiritual philosophies (including Mayan, Toltec, and Native American inspired reflective guiding symbolism), crystals, nutrition, herbology, acupuncture, and homeopathy, as well as researching psychological, medical and scientific observations.

How did you develop your abilities and methods as a healer?

It’s an ongoing process of listening closely, questioning and exploring ceaselessly, analyzing and reflecting, and practicing that which I’ve learned. It’s an integrative process that has spanned over twenty five years so far.

Why specifically do you do this work?

I feel that it is a great gift to be able to help others by offering the insights that I have learned. It is an honour to be able to participate in the overall betterment and well-being of the world by addressing the needs of one person at a time.

What transformations have you experienced through doing this work?

The nature of the work is consistently and constantly transformative as I was, and am, my very first ‘client’ and I continue to work every day in one form or another. I have witnessed and experienced a slow and steady increase in ability to live from my core (or centre being) in a calmer and more proactive way – even when ‘doing nothing’ – and perhaps, most importantly (as someone living with Lupus for 30 years) I am able to manage any symptoms on a daily basis without the need for medication.

What transformations have you witnessed in others?

I feel that I’d like to reply as a mom. I cannot describe the transformations (as they are the property of the soul and not for me to quantify or judge). However, if ever anyone has borne witness or participated in seeing a pained child or creature become soothed, and reach a place of calm and contentment where once pain was prominent, that is the ‘transformation’ I’ve been privileged to take part in. The micro muscles soften, the eyes shine, the spirit is calm.

What has your greatest realisation or learning been on your journey as a healer?

That everything matters. The ‘sacred’ is ‘mundane’ and the ‘mundane’ is ‘sacred’.

Can you please share some of the most powerful healing you have experienced?

‘Healing’ is not always turning sickness to wellness, but is like inhaling or exhaling—in other words, it’s found in the constant expression of the soul. ‘Powerful’ is relative to the moment and so each tender moment of mutual connection and understanding is ‘most powerful’. That said, one of the most poignant experiences was the making of a short film I wrote, directed and produced in 2008 (“Inner Mask”). Not only were my personal artistic goals being met, but everyone who participated—from Extras to craftspeople, my son and good friends—every single person went through a positive change in the name of ‘love’. The synergy, unspoken commitment, enthusiasm, support, courage and ‘miracles’ (i.e. coincidence and serendipity) abounded for the five weeks it took to create the film from concept to completion. Directly or indirectly every single participant had a positive life-altering experience during or shortly after the film. The film itself did not receive much attention from the film world; however it seemed to me (and to all concerned) that the process of creating the film was in and of itself a gateway to healing.

As a healer, writer and filmmaker; is there a link between these aspects of your work and life?

I feel that everything is connected to wellness. I don’t call myself a “healer” (since I merely facilitate and don’t ‘directly’ heal anyone). I also don’t define myself by the words ‘artist’ or ‘writer’, but I feel that my soul’s inherent expression comes through in work that focusses on communication and understanding, so art is a natural extension of my being. Everything is connected and related. It all depends on one’s inclination and perspective. It’s my intention to share every form of artistic expression that provides joy or perhaps even inspiration of any kind.

What are your favourite films on the themes of healing and empowerment?

I believe that all art carries the capacity to express these themes and I have enjoyed many films that have carried an inspiring message in one form or another (in film, music, books, paintings, poetry, etc.). In this specific genre, I would choose “Whale Rider”, “The Power of One”, “To Kill A Mockingbird”, “Dead Poets Society”, and  “Peaceful Warrior” to name a few.

Do you have one tip to share for everyday life?

Find the love within yourself and honour it at all times with gentle focus and awareness.

Anything else?

Find joy every day in at least one meaningful way (whether in awe of a sunset, the sound of a friend’s voice or the scent of a flower). Nurture your soul.

What does a one to one session with you involve?

It involves a preliminary contact to establish the needs of a ‘seeker’ (where I also describe what my process involves in greater detail and we explore whether or not I am the right person to aid the one in need). If the connection is ‘sympathetic’, we proceed. They speak, I listen. There are always tissues, water and/or tea available if necessary and all the comforts of a clean, happy, safe and artistic environment that I can offer. We delve. We explore. The quest for positive change is addressed as fully as possible. A session may be up to three hours (and I always book the time accordingly whether it is required or not). I may use a pendulum to ‘check in’ with a participant and to ensure that we’re on the right track or to make sure we have covered all aspects that we can for the moment or day. At the end of the session, we generally (but not always) do a ‘clearing’—affirming the dissolution or dispelling of negative influences adopted for the sake of survival which no longer serve the same purpose, but which impede ‘expansion’ or ‘expression’. No one leaves in a state of upheaval or distress. In terms of booking sessions, I have relied upon ‘Cosmic timing’ to ensure that I’m ready to aid someone when help is needed, and it has worked impeccably thus far for several years.

How do you prepare for a healing session?

In a sense, I never stop ‘preparing’. I too am always learning, always considering questions and options. In a sense, I prepare specifically by ensuring that my space is clear and clean, and that I am detached, ready to listen and ready to address that which I have been invited to witness.

What are you future plans, ideas projects as a healer and as an artist?

I have just recently self-published my first feature film script “Halocline” (which I have released as an e-book unto itself, as one might a play).  I’m in the process of editing and illustrating a children’s book I have written called “The Story of Henry, Wolf’s Bane” which is about a little pig defeating a wolf, much akin to my ‘battle’ with Lupus (which is “wolf” in Latin), and I have been asked to teach artists in the context of a series of workshops offering a holistic approach to business. I prefer to follow the heart’s journey rather than to make plans. There are always new and exciting ways in which to participate and to share in this amazing journey together.

We receive so many inquiries from people needing to take some time out to recharge, reflect and rejuvenate and wondering where in the world to go and do that.

Below is a list of personally experienced and recommend retreats where space is created and held for healing and transformation. Please feel free to respond or write to us if you have personally experienced a wellness retreat that was amazing. We are also interested in hearing from you if you are creating or hosting retreats.

Sunflower Retreats

A beautiful Italian Medieval village called Casperia forms the backdrop for a peaceful week of daily yoga classes, delicious food, cycling and hilly rambling. Conveniently only 1 hour from Rome.

I practised yoga there with Advertising Exec turned Ayurvedic Doctor and Yoga teacher, Jo Heath who is teaching there again this summer as the yogi in residence.

Casperia

Ibiza Yoga

Stay in a Balinese pagoda, a teepee or a room in a shared luxurious villa. Yoga classes are 2 hours every morning with a roster of world-renowned teachers. There are many healing holistic treatments on offer throughout the day as well as a delicious organic vegetarian lunch included at this wellness centre located next to beautiful Benirras beach on the hippie “quieter” side of Ibiza.

I trained there with Edward Clarke, founder of an experimental dance company called Tripsichore Yoga.

Ibiza Yoga

Yogabeats Holidays

Worldwide yoga holidays throughout the year with David Sye in The Canary Islands, Greece, Cuba, Ibiza and Dahab Egypt. I attended his Dahab retreat and found the combination of sunshine, moonlit desert meditations and red sea scuba diving to be out of this world. This holiday literally changed my life and set me on the path to becoming a yoga teacher myself. I also ended up assisting as an apprentice and making a lot of videos with David after becoming qualified as a yoga teacher. He is a truly amazing teacher and person.

Desa Seni

A slice of heaven on earth at this paradise escape in Bali. Desa Seni is a year round wellness and yoga centre where guests stay in interior designed antique wooden joglos and eat organic vegetarian food grown in the gardens which surround the studios. The good vibes from the yoga and meditation classes also help the fruit and vegetables to grow.

I attended a powerful Satori Breathwork training retreat here, run by Dawn Delgado & Beau Robb of  Transformation Vacations

PachaMama

Located deep in the jungles of Costa Rica, PachaMama is an Eco community setup by an Israeli Guru turned wildlife photographer named Tyohar. All sorts of wellness and yoga retreats happen here year round, the most popular being the cleansing, fasting and vision quest experiences. Community ground rules include one that all residents must gather to sit in silence in the great hall for one hour each day. This place is a jungle utopia for the inner Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, built entirely by it’s residents who also have their own school for the community children and their own monetary currency.

Pacha-Mama

Blue Spirit

A luxurious place to restore and unwind. All sorts of interesting wellness retreats are run here year round on a quiet beach in the un-touristy Nosara area. There are some great surf spots nearby and the yoga studio has one of the best possible views I have ever seen whilst meditating. It is an extension of the Omega Institute in the U.S so many of it’s retreats are linked to the Omega teachers and teachings.

Blue Spirit

Sacred Circularities

Jaguar Mary is a world traveller who runs these empowering hula hoop retreats in Sedona and in Bali. These weeklong retreats are focused on intention setting and workshops to expand dance and hooping techniques. I attended as a hooping novice and left that week with new friends, a fit body, trim waistline and surprisingly strong hooping skills.

Jungle Yoga

This place is so incredible, I almost do not want to share it! It was the most beautiful and powerful place I have ever visited and a magical weeklong retreat with world famous Yogi, Shaman and Singer/Song-writer Danny Paradise. After a one hour boat journey deep into a National Park you find a cluster of floating bamboo glam shacks and one large floating yoga studio.

We spent a blissful week practising and learning from Danny’s years of experience for 4 hours everyday and the rest of the time was filled swimming the huge lake, canoeing and observing the abundant wildlife. Every evening we had a musical jam led by Danny, with other talented (and famous) musical guests joining in too. I returned from this retreat the strongest and fittest I have ever felt in my life and still dream about it, hoping to return there one day.

Lotus Yoga

A beautiful collection of simple tree-houses open to the surrounding nature yet offering complete privacy whilst decorated with beautiful antique Indian furniture. It is set inland from the quiet clean beaches of Patnem, Goa. Yoga is offered every morning and some evenings as well as a daily range of Ayurvedic and other healing modalities and the organic vegetarian food is delicious.

The Findhorn Foundation

Findhorn is a world famous eco village and model of sustainability. Retreats and courses run all year at their Cluny College Campus and almost every week there is an “Experience Week” where visitors can get stuck into community life working in the gardens, the kitchens and care for the eco homes and Castle-like Cluny campus. It is a life changing experience and a very healing place. Many people who go there end up deciding to stay for years because they feel so happy and at peace there.

I trained as a “Sacred Dance” teacher there for a few months and loved it. I have returned several times since then to unwind and recharge and also for the annual Festival of Sacred Dance.

Findhorn

Cluny College

And here’s a bonus 11th retreat that I am on right now….

Vitala Yoga & Yoga Suite

High up in the Italian Valtellina Alps is an ancient spa town where I am on a family friendly yoga and hiking retreat specifically tailored to Parents and kids. This is run by a Nautropathic Doctor, yoga teacher and studio owner Beatrice Giampaoli and the “perfect Yang to her Yin” studio owner and teacher trainer Yoss Giancarlo Miggiano.

In my research, I found few retreats that welcome and offer comforts and services to help make it a relaxing experience for “Mummy and Babies or Mummy/Parents and Kids”.

I am being so held by the power of these magnetic mountains and have great babysitters organised so I can grab some quality “me time” for restorative yoga, hiking and soaking in the “aqua curativa” ancient healing thermal waters. Naturally, I am in bliss!
